The  Regional Oil spill EMARSGA action plan

The  contingency aims to strengthen the national and  regional capacities to deal with major oil spill pollution, the EMARSGA center  encourages PERSGA member states to develop its own  national oil spill contingency plans and

provide the required technical assistance in this regard. In  2002 an IMO consultant prepared an action plan to develop the regional oil spill contingency plan and  the action plan has been discussed and approved by PERSGA members in meetings and workshops in  Hurghada 2003, Alexandria 2004 and  Jeddah 2005. IMO experts participated in all the meetings and EMARSGA center has succeeded in the implementation of most of the action plan.
